Foxghyll Country House - Ambleside

The room was nice, but water pressure in the morning was laughable, barely a trickle for someone so unimportant, I also expected a welcome gesture for my stay but alas, nothing. Clearly, this place doesn't prioritize special treatment. I almost gave a good review, but I just couldn't. My vacation deserved more than mediocrity.

Our experience here was really unforgettable. We liked this well-maintained and attractive hotel with garden views. The staff was helpful and everything was very good. There was free Wi-Fi throughout the property and the service in general was exceptional. Had opportunity to use wake up calls at no cost.

We were there for 5 days, everything was great, truly enjoyed its marvellous location just off the garden, all the attractions and Ambleside in around 15-20 minutes...

I spent 5 nights in a Double Room with Mountain View and was utterly enchanted. The personalized breakfast menu with freshly sourced local produce was a good start to each day. Moments spent lounging in the garden, surrounded by beautifully maintained grounds, was like a tranquil retreat.

fine views and perfect walks in ambleside

I loved my stay, especially the lovely 15-minute walk into Ambleside with amazing views, and how wonderful it was to walk straight through the garden and up onto Loughrigg Fell for some amazing sights.

My room was great, with a gorgeous view of the garden and a super comfy bed. Breakfast was delicious with lots of choices, and it was awesome to have someone else cut up my fruit for me. Loved the location, a nice walk to great spots.

The location is perfect, just a ten-minute walk from Ambleside, where there's plenty to explore. The cozy atmosphere was complemented by Roy and Barry, who added charm as they visited us daily for treats.

My wife says that the breakfast options could be a bit more varied for families.

I had an amazing stay, especially loved the tranquil garden views and cozy window seat! Breakfast was so delicious and had great options. Only downside was not enough time to enjoy it all.

The location was fine , allowing us to walk to Ambleside with ease. The garden view from our room offered serene moments in the morning sun. The hosts were genuinely attentive.

The accommodations here are fantastic, with spotless units and cozy beds, while the staff is incredibly friendly and attentive.

The breakfast was delicious and wonderful with a great selection of options. the place was fabulous and exceptionally clean. the location is excellent, on the outskirts of Ambleside and so close to the beautiful Lake District, all the attractions, and the gardens.

This place is well-maintained, exceptionally comfortable, boasts lovely garden views, a magnificent location with on-site parking, and is situated in a really quiet area.
